One or more photodetectors measure at least a parameter of the target from the reflected beam. A circulator integrated into the photonic chip directs the transmitted beam toward the aperture and directs the reflected beam from the aperture to the one or more photodetectors. The navigation system navigates the vehicle relative to the target based on the parameters of the target.
