【EN】Disclosed are ranging methods and apparatus that may be implemented by a VR/MR system that includes a Head Mounted Display (HMD) and accessories held or worn by a user. Ranging sensors (e.g., ultrasonic transducers) may be included on the HMD and on the accessories and used to track the distance and relative position of walls, objects, and other obstacles within or in a constrained physical environment, such as a room, gym, yard, or field. Ranging information from sensors on the HMD and accessory may be used to generate a 3D map of the user's environment that may be used for various purposes in the VR/MR system. In addition to mapping the user's environment, the ranging methods and devices may also be used to track the relative position of the accessory with respect to the HMD.

【EN】The invention provides a display system. The invention provides a display system, which comprises a head-mounted display unit and a wake-up control system. The head-mounted display unit provides virtual content to a user and is operable in a low-power state and a high-power state that consumes more power than the low-power state to provide the virtual content to the user. The wake-up control system determines when to operate in the high power state. The wake-up control system may evaluate a first wake-up criterion having a low power, evaluate a second wake-up criterion having a higher power than the first wake-up criterion when the first wake-up criterion is satisfied, and cause the head-mounted display unit to operate in the high-power state when the second wake-up criterion is satisfied.
